What an exiting weekend we had…Mum and I both competed at the Northern Barrel Racing League on Saturday, which was held at the Stockyard Arena in Quorn. I also competed on the Sunday as well, but Mum had prior commitments 🙂
This was Mum’s first ever competition on her horse Monty, and they did amazing. Mum has been back riding again for less than 12 months after a 30+ year break!
I was super happy with Dom’s efforts over the weekend – on Saturday we placed 2nd in the 3rd Division barrels and 1st in the 2nd Divison poles, and on Sunday we placed 1st in the 4th Division barrels. He does okay for a dressage/show jumping thoroughbred!
A big thank you to the NBRL for putting on a great event at the wonderful facilities of the Stockyard Arena. The weather was chilly and I wouldn’t have complained if we’d gotten some much needed rain – but not riding while wet is always enjoyable as well!
I also better say thank you to Dave who came up for the weekend, help organise our camp set up and took some photos for us as well 🙂
